You have it completely backward. The French and Germans objected, sure, but in the end they signed on to the communique of "open door" policy for Ukraine and Georgia.

And the fact that you refer to the FSB as the KGB shows me you are not a serious person.

Regarding the Bucharest Memorandum, Russia also signed up to that. It was not Putin's intention to conquer Ukraine or even annex the Russian speaking parts. The peace deal they negotiated in Istanbul provided for the Donbas to remain part of Ukraine, and even afforded a future return of Crimea to Ukraine (with guarantees of long term leases for Russian naval bases).

As we all know, Zelensky rejected that offer. Just as he rejected Minsk, and rejected the neutrality-based proposal of France and Germany in December 2021.

I have no doubt that France and Germany believe that Ukraine should remain neutral. But, unfortunately for them, they are not sovereign states. They must do whatever the US tells them. And that is what they did in 2008.

Russian meddling in US elections has been thoroughly debunked. The only thing they have been able to prove is that the IRA made a $100,000 media buy on Facebook, which is nothing. The whole "Russiagate" and "Russian meddling" story we now know originated in Ukraine (according to NYT) and was made up in order to secure more funding for CIA's secret Ukraine intel ops. Duh.

Likewise the "proof" of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17. It has since been proven that it was Ukraine who shot down that flight. But we cannot expect the Ukrainians to implicate themselves, can we??

And as far as shooting down civilian airliners is concerned, what about Iran Air Flight 655 (1988)?
