Consider this one fact: in 2014, when Ukraine started killing Russians living in the Donbas, the Ukrainian army had only 6,000 troops.
Putin did not invade.
Instead, he entered into the Minsk Accords negotiations to find a peaceful settlement that would have saved the Russians in Donetsk and Luhansk from slaughter.
The West used these negotiations to "buy time", and by the time Russia did enter Ukraine in 2022, the number had gone from 6,000 to 150,000.
If Putin simply wanted to "conquer Ukraine" why didn't he do so in 2014?
