Yes, the USSR under Stalin was not a very good actor. Still, I remember growing up in the Cold War and laughing at the idea that the USSR built the Berlin Wall and lowered the Iron Curtain to preserve Eastern Europe from the still active Nazis and their ideology.

How shocking then to learn of Operation Paperclip and Wernher Von Braun, and the Reinhart Gehlen Network and so many other examples of the US recruiting, protecting, rewarding Nazis. Indeed, if the Russians were afraid of nazis, then they had a point regarding limiting contacts with the West, which one could easily argue was absolutely infested with Nazis.

But we Americans do love our Nazis - as our current support for the Azov Battalion and the Svoboda party amply shows.

I do believe that the US government would ally with Satan himself if he evinced an anti-Russia bias.
