Yes, I have heard the same thing. The Europeans certainly do not want the GMO grain for making bread, pasta, etc. But I understand that a lot of this is for animal feed? Maybe that is acceptable? I really don't know.
Also, it could be that some unscrupulous brokers are selling the grain as NOT coming from Ukraine.
After all, the Ukrainian grain sold under this deal was supposed to go to the Middle East and Africa.
The DW article I referenced implies that no one is controlling the process, and the whole overland shipping route from Ukraine via Poland is just leading to a lot of black market deals.

It's almost like how the 70% of weapons we ship to Ukraine goes missing.
I have also heard that Ukraine is corrupt. Indeed, I have heard that Ukraine is "the most corrupt nation in Europe" according to The Guardian.
