You are right, Dresden is a lousy analogy. It was because of things like Dresden that the Geneva Conventions were convened after WWII - just to outlaw things like that in the future.
I also admit that I drew a rather hasty comparison and did not fully explain just how inadequate and invalid that comparison is. It only works if you believe the hasbarist argument that Gazans pose an existential threat to Israel - which of course is ridiculous.

What the hsell are you on about? The students are protesting the Apartheid system in Israel, protesting the genocide and calling for a ceasefire. They are being led by a group called "Jewish Voice for Peace".
