We have a saying in the US: if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it's a duck.

Yes, Bandera was a nationalist. We agree on that. But what does that mean? I think we can agree that Bandera wanted to establish a Ukrainian nation, separate and independent, for the "Ukrainian People".

But how did he want to achieve this goal? He wanted to ally with Hitler's Germany, believing that Germany would give the Ukrainians a state. He was disappointed, and I bet you know the story of how the Germans actually put Bandera in prison because of his nationalistic activities.

But Bandera and the UPA held beliefs that were Nazistic.

They believed in the genetic and racial superiority of the Ukrainian people.

They believed in the inherent inferiority of the Slavic peoples, and especially the Russians, whom they considered to be "Untermenschen". It was that belief in racial inferiority that made the "tragedy" of Wolyn possible. A "tragedy" that Poland calls a genocide perpetrated by the UPA.

So if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck ...
