We do not talk about the "Jewish Lobby". There is no lobby that operates specifically for jewish people. Rather, we talk about the "Israel Lobby" - that is a lobby that operates on behalf of the Zionist project in the State of Israel.
The Zionist lobby is very powerful. They started many years before even Israel was founded, and operated through powerful interests in Britain such as Lord Rothschild and Lord Balfour. Then, once the State of Israel was declared, the Zionists launched a massive PR / propaganda campaign that has only grown and grown over the past decades. They have been staggeringly successful in transforming the horror of the holocaust into an asset to promote and defend the Jewish State of Israel, to the point where they have made criticism of Israel a crime, condemning any critic of Israel as an anti-Semite. This is an extremely powerful tactic, and it plays into the strategy of the accretion of power within the United States political system.
Israeli leaders have been boasting about the fact that they can control the US since at least Ariel Sharon. Most recently, it was Netanyahu who boasted at how easy it was to control the US.
But as I have pointed out in my articles, the monetary influence of the Israel Lobby is most powerful in the Democratic Party, whereas the Israel Lobby faction that has the most power over the Republican Party (GOP) is actually the large number of "Christian Zionists" who support Israel and want Israel to take over the entire Holy Land, so that Jesus Christ can return and "rapture " them up to heaven.
The Christian Zionist movement is led by CUFI - "Christians United for Israel". The absolute truth is that NO Republican political candidate can win an election if they do not have the support of the CUFI. which means that these Republican politicians MUST support the Israeli genocide of the Palestinians, and the stealing of all the Palestinian land for Jews.
In other words, Christian Zionists are the most radical of all Zionists, and they adhere to all the most far right positions adopted by the religious Zionist parties in Israel.
So with the Israel Lobby controlling the Democrats via AIPAC money, and controlling the Republicans via the Christian Zionist voting bloc, the Unites States will always side with Israel, even when it is AGAINST the long term strategic interest and security of the USA. This is because the Israel Lobby controls the individual politicians, who are all craven opportunists and narcissists who only care about themselves, and winning their next election and holding on to power.
You are seeing this playing out right now in Gaza. The Israelis could literally set up gas chambers and start mass murdering Palestinians by the millions, and the US would refuse to condemn them.
