"Ukraine doesn't have a far-right problem compared to other European states "

Poppycock.

I am a US citizen, and my Congress, my representatives in government, passed a law in 2015 forbidding the US government from supplying the Azov Battalion with arms because they are Nazis. As far as I know, there has never been any such law on the books regarding any other "European states."

Now, you may wish to condemn the US Congress as a bunch of "brainless collaborators" but that is on you.

MOREOVER: the fact that my government supports Ukraine means very little in terms of the legitimacy of Ukraine's democracy or its civil society. The US government would support Satan himself if he said he hated Russians. Remember, my government has supported dictators, mass murderers and totalitarians all over the globe. Zelensky is just one more authoritarian puppet in a long line that stretches back to 1945. He is now in the pantheon next to Saddam Hussein, the Shah of Iran, Pinochet, Arbenz, and so on. The US was a staunch supporter of Apartheid South Africa, and we armed and trained Death Squads in Central America for decades. More recently, the US allied with Al Qaeda, ISIS and other sectarian extremists to fight Assad in Syria.

So please do not try to make the argument that Ukraine is in any way legitimate simply because the US government is supporting it.
