This is the dominant US narrative, and it is completely, utterly and despicably - not to mention dangerously - FALSE. Taiwan, like Ukraine, is being used as a US pawn in a proxy war with China. There is no reason to think that China would invade Taiwan. In fact INVASION IS IMPOSSIBLE, because Taiwan is already a part of China, and that is officially recognised by the UN as the "one China policy".
China "invading" Taiwan would be like the USA "invading" Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
Moreover, the US OFFICIALLY RECOGNISES this "one China policy" . The fact that one is led to think otherwise only indicates the cynical and "UNJUST" nature of the American rhetoric regarding China.
The USA is afraid of any "great power" threatening its political and economic hegemony, and so it is inciting and provoking conflict in order to rearrange the pieces on the geopolitical chessboard by force.
In Europe, the US fears a rising Russia and a growing economic alliance between Europe and Russia. The US answer was to provoke a proxy war that would break up the relationship between Europe - especially Germany - and Russia. In the case of the Nord Stream 2 the USA LITERALLY severed those ties.
The USA is trying to do the same thing with China.
As far as the Baltic States are concerned, there is no reason to think that Russia would attack or invade them. Unless, of course -and this is always a possibility - the US forces the Baltic States to attack Russia first.
Otherwise, it is safe to assume that Russia knows what Article 5 of the NATO pact means, and it is silly to think that Putin is willing to risk a nuclear WWIII in order to - what, exactly? I do not understand what Russia gains by invading the Baltics. The motives for invading Ukraine are clear - Putin has been elucidating them since 2007. But the Baltics? That is just crazy talk.
