This is so pathetically transparent it is almost funny. Almost. This is a meme, a recurring theme that dates back to when David Brock and his gang of thugs over at Correct the Record decided to spend millions to fund online trolls to attack Bernie and Bernie supporters and defend Hillary and her supporters.

The Bernie Bro Myth was developed by the Clinton campaign in 2015 so that they could punch Left without appearing to be the establishment-defending neoliberal centrists that they really are.

The idea is not new: it actually started when the Clinton camp started attacking young white males as sexists and misogynists in 2007. Back then they were called “Obama Boys.”

The striking thing is that this 100% phony case has not matured or even been updated over the past 2 years; it is still the same old horse manure: a series of assumptions and assertions that are simply not true:

  1. Bernie Bros exist
  2. Bernie Bros are young white males
  3. Bernie Bros are racists (like Bernie himself)
  4. Bernie Bros are sexist (like Bernie himself).

While these underlying themes remain the bedrock of the Brockroach swarm’s attack posture, there are readily recognisable offshoots to this campaign, such as the “I used to like Bernie, but …” attack. In this scenario, a Clintonite True Believer or a paid Brockroach will assert that they were a Bernie supporter at one time, but then stopped supporting him either because (a) “Bernie Bro” supporters were so bad they made it impossible for them to continue supporting Bernie, or (b) they became more educated about Bernie’s “record” as a racist, sexist, gun loving misogynist and so they changed their minds about the man. I even had one such troll claim that they had been a Bernie delegate to the DNC convention before “seeing the truth” and opposing Bernie.

But there is another reason that I am not buying this argument, and why I refuse to believe these crocodile tears being shed for the poor, poor Hillbots who are supposedly being targeted by Bernie supporters on Twitter. That is the fact that the Hillbots and Brockroaches do this exact thing to Bernie supporters everywhere — and not just on Twitter. I was banned for life from Daily Kos without explanation because a swarm of Hillbots decided to band together and take me out. My crime? I published articles that were insufficiently enthusiastic about Hillary and indeed warned that electing Hillary as the nominee would lead to disaster. I was swarmed by and then reported by a storm of Hillbots and whoosh — banned. This despite the fact that I was a paying member and had huge “mojo” on the site.

Such projection is a trick that is not just used by Republicans. It is a tenet of Machiavelli and is used by any cohort, cause or faction that has run out of ideas and just wants to win. And that is what is going on here. The accusations made in this article are pure projection. As such, they should be ignored and used only as a means to make us more aware of the shenanigans that are still going on to keep a two-time Presidential failure propped up as some sort of force in politics.
