The USA ran numerous covert operations during the Cold War to influence the internal affairs of other countries. These operations included providing military, economic, and political aid to countries friendly to Western capitalism, as well as attempting to overthrow governments that were hostile to Western capitalism. The USA also used espionage and propaganda to further its goals and weaken its enemies.
