The Russians are much more honest that the Western powers. The US especially has broken every treaty they ever signed - just ask any Native American.
Steve, you have been brainwashed. Russia engages in propaganda, as much as any modern state does, but they are inherently more honest than the Western countries like the US, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, etc. This is because Russia has never been a settler colonialist power like they have.
Obviously the victims of settler colonialism, those countries of the Global South, BELIEVE Russia. That is why they have not signed on to sanctions. That is why they want to join BRICS.
Now, you can say that the people and the leaders of the Global South are naive, that they have been hoodwinked by the Russians, that they are believing Russian lies, etc. etc. - and I almost wish you would, so I could simply dismiss you as just another rank, condescending Western racist.
But you are not one of those, are you?
Secondly, this talk about a "Russian empire" - do you really believe that? You really think that Putin wants to become an imperial power, subjugating other countries and exploiting them, like the Western colonial powers did for centuries in the Global South?
You really think Russia wants to do that? Do you really think that Russia NEEDS to do that? If you do, you have not been paying attention - RUSSIA IS WINNING ON A GLOBAL SCALE.
