The initial mobilisation (summer/fall 2022) was needed because he did want to keep the operation small. He never intended to "conquer" Ukraine, he just wanted to get the West's attention and force Zelensky to the negotiating table. That is why he entered in Febriary 2022 with only 190,000 men - in a country that had 780,000 in the AFU.
And indeed we can see from the results gleaned from the Istanbul peace talks in March-April 2022, Putin would have been happy just getting a firm, enforceable version of the Minsk Accords.
And he almost succeeded. The plan was initialed, and then Boris Johnson arrived in Kiev and told Zelensky to rip up the peace deal and keep fighting.
So Putin realised by summer 2022 that Ukraine would not talk peace, that it was going to be a larger fight.
So he mobilised 300,000 men . Since then, he has had further mobilisations, and they are still getting about 1400+ volunteers signing up each day.
But those larger mobilisations were not for fighting Ukraine. Putin wants to have at least 1.5 million men under arms because he is preparing for a war with NATO.
I will admit that Russia may indeed be losing up to 1000 a day, but so is Ukraine. The difference is that Russia is advancing. Avdiivka has fallen and now Chasiv Yar is about to fall (it may already be in Russian hands as I write this) and Kharkiv is being evacuated in anticipation of Russia's taking that city.
I believe that in the wake of the Moscow terror attack, the Russian advance will accelerate, and I expect them to take Odessa in May/June.
And finally, I cannot believe you really think there are no Nazis in Kiev. The Azov Battalion, Aidar Brigade, Tornado, Kraken - these are all Nazi units that are part of AFU now. This was all documented prior to 2022.
And Zelensky's being Jewish is irrelevant. He did not found those Nazi militias. In fact, it is a well-documented fact that the Azov Battalion, Aidar and other Nazi militias were all funded by Ihor Kolomoiski, a Ukrainian oligarch WHO IS HIMSELF JEWISH.
