The 2024 Democratic Party Platform is a Sick, Depressing Joke

Chock full of contradictions, hypocrisy, hyperbole, fear-mongering, lies and just plain nonsense, the 2024 DNC platform is a panoply of pablum.

This week the Democratic Party of the United States released its official Party Platform for 2024. This document, in its thematic focus, emphasis, wording and style, provides us with a summary example of what is wrong with the United States and the collective West.

Moreover, this “Platform” provides stunning examples of what I have been writing about for the past 2+ years.

Trump Derangement Syndrome

The Democratic Party Platform is 100% “Trump-driven”. Indeed, the former President is mentioned no less than 150 times in the document. In addition, the word “MAGA” appears 17 times.

This is significantly more than the number of times (120) the Dems mentioned the Trump Administration in their 2020 Party Platform, back when Trump was an actual incumbent.

Trump is like a spectre, a ghost who haunts the entire Platform document, driving and shaping it. Indeed, he first appears at the very start, in the Preamble, where he is cast immediately as the ultimate menace:
