Thanks, I try to lay out the most lkely scenario, as I proceed from my ingrained scholastic training in Expository Writing, in which it is always important - indeed, it is foundational - to have a THESIS.
One states one's thesis and then proceeds to explicate and lay out a case for why that thesis is correct.
In this way I must plead guilty for trying to convince my readers to agree with my point of view, and if that leads instead to a dialogue/debate, all the better!
