Regarding your assertion that "Russia forced them to learn it, and Russia actually did and does ban the Ukrainian language. They burn books, they imprison teachers, they take children away from parents if they speak Ukrainian at home." - I will need to see an English language non-Ukrainian sourced citation on that one. I have not been able to find one.

Also, may I assume that you are referring to the areas that are now part of Russia?
