Still it is important to realise that the Israelis do not consider themselves to be indigenous to that land. As Avraham Stern averred in 1940 when he founded Lehi:

"Israel took Eretz-Israel by the sword. There it became a nation, only there will it be reborn."

So Zionism is a fascistic messianic cult that relies on stealing land in order to create an ethno-fascist state. That is not in dispute by anyone, especially not by the Zionists themselves, who realise that a Jewish state is not a natural state and is, in fact, contrary to the teachings of Judaism. That is why so many orthodox Jews oppose the Israeli state.

And yes, as you point out, Israel and the United States are both very similar settler colonial societies, having arrived in a land and stolen it from the indigenous inhabitants, displacing, corralling, concentrating and even slaughtering them in the process. What the USA did to the "redskin savages" such as Cherokee and the Sioux, the Israelis are now doing to the Palestinians, whom Gallant also described as "beasts".

And yes, immigration is essential to both these settler colonial projects.
