I don’t know what is giving you this impression, but Bernie Sanders has been consistently polling as the most popular active politician in America (among ALL voters) since 2016. The latest polls show him with a 55%-61% approval rating. And given that he has such low unfavorable ratings (you are in a minority) he almost always has a net favorable score of +15% or higher.
