Ukraine says Russia is about to blow up a nuclear power plant.
Zelensky: “The Russians are losing our Counteroffensive and they are desperate”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed on Tuesday that Russian forces have placed “objects resembling explosives” on the roof of some buildings at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine.
“Now we have information from our intelligence service that the Russians placed explosive-like objects on the roof of several power plant units of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant,” Zelensky announced.
When asked why the Russians would do such a thing, Zelensky explained:
“They are desperate, they are running out of time. The Russians are losing our Counteroffensive, which is being brilliantly and successfully executed. Every day, we continue to force the invaders to use up their ammunition in order to blow up our vehicles and equipment. Our brave warriors continue to drain the Russians’ supplies by absorbing the enemy’s ammunition and mines with their bodies, even as our other forces continue to occupy one abandoned outhouse or horse barn after another”.
When asked why the Russians would risk a nuclear disaster on what they now have declared to be Russian territory, Zelensky was dismissive.
