Really? That's why they whisked the released AZOV commanders to Lviv for their "Welcome Home" celebrations?

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/07/09/world/europe/ukraine-war-prisoners-azov.html

If you do even a cursory reading of their history, you see that the Azov Battalion started out from the The Patriot of Ukraine far right neo-Nazi militia, whose origin can be traced to Lviv (according to Wikipedia).

The "Azov" name was assigned to the group when they joined the AFU and started attacking Mariupol.

Let's look at the five released Commanders of Azov:

1) Denys Prokopenko is from Kyiv and came out of the White Boys Club, superfans of the Dynamo Kyiv soccer team.

2) Svyatoslav Palamar is from in Mykolaiv, a town near Lviv, and describes himself as "Galician" according to his Wikipedia page.

3) Serhii Volynskyi is from Poltava (Kyiv), where they speak Ukrainian.

I could not find any info on Denys Shleha or Oleh Homenko, except for the fact that their names are definitely Ukrainian and not Russian (as you probably know).
