Putin for years has been making the point that "America does not have allies, America has vassals". And he is correct. NATO and EU have received their marching orders, and they are all in lock-step.

Sy Hersh's recent exposé proves that the US was willing to destroy the German and European economy in order to sever ties between Germany/EU and Russia, and oh, by the way also create a huge market for US LNG at the same time. Europe is de-industrialising rapidly as businesses leave Germany/Europe in order to move to the USA, where energy costs are only 20% of what they are now in the "post Nord Stream" Europe suffering under the anti-Russia economic sanctions that the USA forced them to implement.

AMERICA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT EUROPE.

In fact, the US sees the EU as an economic rival, another "Great Power". Some years ago, the GDP of the EU surpassed that of the US, and the Americans have been looking for a way to reverse that ever since. They finally found a way with Ukraine.

And as for Ukraine, we know from the recent revelations of former Israeli PM Naftali Bennet that a peace deal was on the table, that Putin was willing to renounce his demands for de-nazification and demilitarisation, that all Ukraine had to do was promise not to join NATO. According to Bennet, that deal was stopped, broken off by the Biden Administration. That's because IT WAS NEVER ABOUT UKRAINE.

In April, when another deal was on the table brokered by Turkiye, the US/UK put the kibosh on it, forbidding Zelensky from signing.

So let us be clear: the US does not seek permanent allies, just permanent power. They will throw ANYONE under the bus if it furthers the cause of US hegemony and the profits of its corporate oligarchs.
