OK so right off the bat you are non-credible because you seem to be unfamiliar with the Goldstone Report - which you misname as the "Goldberg Report".

The Goldstone Report was a critical piece of fact-finding done by the UN, who chose Goldstone because he was a prominent Jewish Zionist. The UN did this pre-emptively because they fully expected Israel to reject the report as biased and anti-semitic

Well, the joke was on those naive UN officials - Israel OF COURSE rejected the report as "biased and full of errors" (this is a standard Israeli phrase applied to any report or article that criticises Israel).

The podcast deals with a book called Israel and the Struggle over the International Laws of War. According to the books synopsis:

"The author argues that Israel stands on the frontlines of a new struggle over the international laws of war and exposes abuses of law that have been promulgated by international human rights lawyers, UN bodies, and intellectuals to illegitimately circumscribe the right of liberal democracies to defend themselves against transnational terrorists".

The premise of the book is thus invalid.

Firstly, Israel is NOT a "liberal democracy". Israel is undeniably an apartheid state that does not extend fuyll rights to all its citizens.

Secondly, Israel is not fighting "transnational terrorist". Israel is fighting nationalistic freedom fighter. I doubt very much that the author would characterise the Haganah, Irgun or Stern Gang/Lehi as "transnational terrorists". Rather, I expect he would say they were Jewish "freedom fighters" fighting for a Jewish state in Palestine.

I am sure you would agree with that characterisation as well.

Likewise, groups like Hamas are "freedom fighters" fighting for a Palestinian state in Palestine.

Like the Jewish groups, these Palestinian groups target civilians as well as military facilities.

Like the Jewish groups, the people who make up these groups are heroes to their population.

Unlike the Jewish groups, Hamas and related groups are only operating in Palestine. Indeed, whereas the Irgun and Lehi blew up facilities and killed people in Austria, Rome and the UK, Hamas and the other Palestinian resistance movements are only active in Israel-Palestine.
