Oh, please. I suppose you are referring to "Ukraine's nukes". Fistly, they were NOT "Ukraine's nukes". They were Soviet nukes, and all the fire control was located in Russia. The Soviet high command did not have a policy of allowing local commanders to thrust the world into a nuclear WWIII.

The West wanted Ukraine to surrender their nukes (to Russia) because everyone knew that Ukraine - being the most corrupt country in Europe - was the most likely ex-Soviet state to "lose" their nukes to the black market or terrorist networks in return for cold hard cash.

So YES - WE AGREE - Ukraine giving up its nukes made me - and you , and the entire world - a whole lot safer.
