No. That is a ridiculous assertion and not one that is validated by any sort of reason or precedent.

If you can cite such an argument from any sort of credible authority I would be interested to see it.

And the US does not have a democracy . The US is ruled by a corporate oligarchy, and inverted totalitarian regime. "The people" cannot change ANYTHING. The government is there to protect the rich and powerful people who finance the electoral campaigns of the politicians.

That is my whole point.
