Last Wednesday, July 24, 2023, Benjamin Netanyahu strode confidently toward the podium in the well of the House of Representatives. He was mobbed, swarmed by giddy members of Congress yearning to shake his hand, touch his sleeve, or glean some kind of fleeting acknowledgment from their chosen hero.

For his part, the Israeli Prime Minister arrived with a bucketful of hasbara herring to throw to the clapping seals of Congress … a litany of lies, a slurry of slander, a magazine of mendacity, primed and ready to fire.

Bibi’s “State of the Union Address”

Israel’s Haaretz described Netanyahu’s speech to Congress as “a studied imitation of a presidential State of the Union, complete with the recognition of distinguished guests in the gallery at the start and the ‘God bless the United States of America’ at the end.”

Indeed, Bibi had crafted his speech much like that of a US President, complete with a heavy peppering of applause lines. In fact, the Congressmen “honoured” Netanyahu with no less…
