'neo-Nazi's killing Russian speakers'.

Here is an article that talks about the Tornado Battalion, a neo-Nazi militia that is famous for its criminal activities. Prior to the war, the Tornados were in prison for such things as child rape, kidnapping and torture. In March-April 2014, when the Kiev regime started dragooning far-right "volunteer" militias and mustering them into the official Ukrainian Armed Forces, Zelensky released these barbarians from prison, put them in uniform, armed them and set them loose on the Russians in the Donbas.

"Russia felt threatened bc they do not control all the countries around them"

What evidence is there of this? None. Ukraine is a unique case. Ukraine is the brightest of the "red lines" that Russia has always maintained. This was known to the West. When Bill Burns was the US Ambassador to Russia in 2008, he wrote a cable to then NSA Condi Rice saying "Nyet means Nyet". He wrote that Ukraine was the one line that could not be crossed, and that every Russian he talked to, from "the knuckle-draggers in the Kremlin" to "Putin's most vehement liberal critics" agreed that Ukraine in NATO could not be allowed to stand.

Burns continued:

"Experts tell us that Russia is particularly worried that the strong divisions in Ukraine over NATO membership, with much of the ethnic-Russian community against membership, could lead to a major split, involving violence or at worst, civil war. In that eventuality, Russia would have to decide whether to intervene; a decision Russia does not want to have to face".

Remember - Burns was writing this in 2008.

And yet, 2008 was the year that the US and NATO announced their official "Open Door" policy to Ukraine to join NATO. That "Open Door Policy" has been repeated and confirmed every year since then - NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg even "praised" the policy in 2019:

Then, Stoltenberg reiterated the Open Door offer on 15 February 2022 - here is a video of the announcement:

Stoltenberg said NATO's door “remains open” for Ukraine. He told reporters:

“The enlargement of Nato has been a great success that helps to spread democracy, freedom and ensure peace and stability across Europe for decades. So, that decision stands.”

Putin invaded one week later.
