Macron wants to be a player in the EU. Lord knows he is absolute toast in his home country (like Kallas). So he wants to empower the EU.
I am working on another article that will explore why the EU is so bellicose towards Russia. It is all so as to justify a massive investment in defence. The EU is tired of relying on the US's MIC (Military Industrial Complex) and they want to build their own.
For this, they will need to issue Eurobonds, like they did during COVID.
The EU raising their own debt is something new and dangerous, but it is something that globalists like Macron and VDL want to see happen. So in order to do this they need to create an "existential crisis" (i.e., Russia) that is as pressing as that of the COVID pandemic. This will justify them creating an entirely new Military Industrial base and a "supranational" financial superstructure behind it.
Macron wants to be a part of this deal. He is a strong supporter of Eurobonds, but Scholz is opposed. We wil l see what happens now that Macron and Kallas start putting the screws to Germany to go along with issuing those bonds.
In the meantime, Macron wil play up the threat from Russia in order to justify "strengthening" the EU - the place where his next job will be.
