It most certainly is NOT nonsense.

Annalena Baerbock, German FM, has said that she will support arming Ukraine even if her voters oppose it. Think about that: the German people do not want to support Ukraine militarily and economically, and yet she will continue to do so. Does that suggest any sort of a "democratic" system to you?

Her words echo DIRECTLY the US narrative in many ways. She told the Council of Europe, "we are fighting Russia". What does that even mean? That the EU is at war with Russia? Why? Europe had great relations with Russia; Europe received 40% of its energy requirements from Russia pre-2022. Clearly it is not in Europe's interest - and above all decidedly not in Germany's interest - to impoverish themselves and cut off their supply of cheap energy in order to "hurt" Russia.

Even before the conflict, Baerbock was opposed to the Nord Stream pipeline. Why? Because the US did not want Europe to use Russian gas. They wanted the EU to buy the 4x more expensive US gas (fracked LNG). And they did not want Russia, their economic adversary, to benefit from good relations with the EU. Baerbock adopted the US position on Nord Stream even though it was CLEARLY diametrically opposed to German and European economic interests.

Why?

US officials from Antony Blinken to Lloyd Austin have stated repeatedly that the purpose of prosecuting/funding/enabling the war in Ukraine is to "weaken Russia" (Austin) and to "inflict a strategic defeat on Russia" (Blinken).

And moreover, the US sees the current conflict in Ukraine as just a step along the path to conflict with China. US officials ranging from Congressional members to Administration spox to Republican candidates all say, "a win for Russia is a win for China".

Who else spouts such nonsense? None other than Annalena Baerbock. Why would a European leader be worried about China? The EU is not in competition with China - the US is. But the EU acts like it is in competition with China.

Why?

Are you saying that these are the goals of Germany and the EU? Are you asserting that the goals of the European Union and the USA are 100% in alignment when it comes to the "great power competition" that the US perceives between itself and Russia and China?

If so, you are either being either disingenuous or deliberately obtuse. Which is it?

The fact is: prior to the conflict in Ukraine, the US saw the EU as a potential economic rival. Europe had become increasingly powerful economically, they were starting to challenge the US in a wide variety of economic areas, from high tech to AI and even chip production. Certainly Germany's thriving industrial capacity, fueled literally as well as economically by cheap Russian gas, was a giant headache and seen as a real threat to US interests. This was noted by many observers including the CEO of Stratfor. The decision to blow up the Nord Stream pipeline was not just the greatest environmental catastrophe of all time, it dealt a death blow to the EU and especially German economies, thereby fulfilling an American strategic objective.

And in this, OLAF SCHOLZ WAS COMPLICIT. The Germans not only allowed themselves to be decimated economically, they HELPED. "We will do it together", is what Scholz said when Biden stated unequivocally and in no uncertain terms that the US intended to destroy Nord Stream.

Likewise Habeck, Germany's so-called Economic Minister, in adopting the whole range of anti-Russian sanctions put forth by Washington, stuck a dagger in the heart of the German economy he was duty-bound to protect. Do you deny this????

Due to the completely unnecessary and arbitrary actions of its leaders, Germany is now headed into a deep recession; German industry is flocking to the US in search of cheap energy and government grants under the clearly illegal US CHIPS Act and the Inflation Reduction Act - both of which the EU should be fighting tooth and nail before the WTO .

BUT THEY ARE NOT. The Europeans acquiesce to clearly illegal and anti-competitive government interference by the USA in order to prop up American industry at the expense of EU industry.

Why? Because they are vassals; because EU leaders have been brainwashed into thinking that the US is indeed the "one indispensable country" and that the US must be supported, preserved, strengthened and allowed to maintain its hegemony at all costs.

So there are three for you: Sholz, Baerbock and Habeck. There are many, many others. Sanna Marin ignored the wishes of her people in pushing for NATO accession. Kaja Hallas is another warmongering leader who is also a criminal hypocrite when it comes to Russia, given her husband's business dealings. And don't even get me started on Duda - he is America's Golem, a Frankenstein monster who has taken Russophobia to new heights and seems ready - along with his Bucharest Nine cohorts - to take US policy to the brink of WWIII.

And of course every UK leader sees themselves as a “partner” in US interests, relentlessly pursuing the Washington line because of that “special relationship”.

And last but by no means least is Ursula von der Leyen, the worst of all. As the POLITICO profile points out, she is pushing hard to create an imperial EC presidency similar in scope, power and unaccountability as the US office. Except she is not even elected by the people of Europe!

The EU is ruled by unelected autocrats in unaccountable institutions whose sole purpose is to further US geopolitical goals. That is obvious to anyone who even stops to think about it for one minute.

Obviously, you have not.

Finally, I do not understand your last comment about the US permanent state. Would you rather I use Obama's word choice and refer to it as "the Blob"?

Or are you seriously trying to deny the existence of that which President Eisenhower himself warned us so presciently about in his farewell address to the nation???
