It is important to remember the special relationship between Russia and Ukraine. The "Russian People" such as they are, can be traced back to an ancient kingdom called the "Kievan Rus". As the name suggests, it was actually based in Kiev. Moscow was founded as a secondary principality under the Kievan Rus.

Russia and Ukraine really are the "fraternal peoples" that the Russian national anthem mentions.

Everything East of the Dnieper is Russian, and Orthodox. Western Ukraine is Polish/Hungarian/Austrian and Catholic, They HATE Russians and everything Russian.

The word "Ukraine" means "the border lands". This is why.

This is also why, as an independent nation, Ukraine sought to remain neutral between East and West. This was Yanukovych's policy. This was why the US said he had to go. They wanted a pro-Western government in Kiev.

Did you know that Zelensky speaks Russian? He was elected speaking ONLY Russian, and had to LEARN Ukrainian once he was elected.

I do not agree with what you say about how Russians treat others. I see only that Russians treat other countries with respect.

Russia and Ukraine were getting along fine until the USA interfered to stir up trouble and empower Nazis from Western Ukraine to kill the Russian population.
