It does not matter what Zelensky was or what he did prior to getting elected. What matters is what he did = and didn't do - after he was elected.
He won on a peace platform, and yet in his first press conference he declared war on the Donbas (October 2022).
He was a Russian speaker, and he had run on unity, and allowing Russian speakers to keep using their language But then he imposed the most draconian anti-Russian laws.
Bogdan, you seem to be suffering from the Western disease of "identitarianism" - the idea that a person's racial or cultural identity is all that counts, and their actions always will reflect their sociocultural "identity" rather than any coherent political or ideological strategy.
You need to stop doing that, because it leads to silly, magical thinking.
For example, people in the US thought that America had become a "post-racial" society when Barack Obama was elected; that blacks in America had finally "arrived" and racism was beaten. They were wrong. Obama arguably did more to hurt black Americans than previous presidents. Black Americans lost 40% of their wealth under Obama.
A decade after Obama was when we had the #BLM Black Lives Matter movement, because things actually became worse for black Americans post-Obama.
Likewise, identitarianism would lead you to believe that a Jewish, Zionist oligarch like Ihor Kolomoiski would never fund a Nazi militia, but you would be wrong. Kolomoiski, despite being Jewish, funded Azov, Aidar and other Nazi militias.
And despite himself being a Russian speaker, he directed those Nazi militias to attack and kill the Russian speakers in the Donbas.
To quote the Godfather: "it's only business, Fredo".
