If we heap too much blame on individuals, we might get the misguided impression that, when a certain person leaves the political scene, things will get better.
Indeed! This is the reason I am against impeaching Trum, and I am so damned angry about this whole Russia/Trump thing. There is even a March for Truth — which is nothing more than the corporate Democrats trying to ensure that there wil not be a progressive uprising in 2018. If they can spin this whole Russia/Trump thing for anther year then they will have short circuited Bernie’s Revolution. The Brock set have hijacked the Revolution Bernie started and have launched all these groups now (Indivisible, Onward Togther etc.) to go after Trump.
And once Trump is gone? Duh. Then we still get Trumpism but with a nice clean Christian face that the Evangelicals will die for and with whom the GOP elites can work. The Democrats will be relegated to the dustbin of history, because they won’t be able to mobilise to defeat the GOP to any significant degree in 2018. Maybe they take back the Senate, which would suit the billionaire and corporate class just fine. Things wil go back to the neoliberal status quo that gave us Trump in the first place. And down ballot, in teh States, the GOP will control enough Statehouses to have a constitutional convention … and then the shit will REALLY hit the fan.
Yes, I see impeaching Trump as leading to the destruction of the Democratic Party and the transformation of America into a conservative if not fascist state, with a new constitution that will ensure permanent Republican rule.
All because fo the phenomenon you have described.
