In defense of the “ungrateful” Ukrainians

The West is running out of patience with its proxy, but it has no moral right to do so.

People have been making mention of the fact that the “collective West” seems to be reaching the point of exasperation with their proxy, Ukraine, and its diminutive but pugnacious president, Volodymyr Zelensky.

This exasperation was on full display recently at the NATO summit in Vilnius, where tensions on both sides have led to some harsh words being exchanged.

Zelensky calls NATO delays “absurd”

In the run-up to the Vilnius summit, Zelensky mounted a PR campaign to express his own frustrations with the NATO leadership:

“It’s unprecedented and absurd when time frame is not set neither for the invitation nor for Ukraine’s membership. While at the same time vague wording about ‘conditions’ is added even for inviting Ukraine.”

“It seems there is no readiness neither to invite Ukraine to NATO nor to make it a member of the Alliance. This means that a window of opportunity is being left to bargain Ukraine’s membership in NATO in negotiations with Russia. And for Russia, this means motivation to continue its terror.”

“Uncertainty is weakness. And I will openly discuss this at the summit.”

Ignored and shunned at the summit
