I suggest you consider the "new" NATO members - the Bucharest Nine. Places like the Baltics and Poland. In Estonia and Latvia they are passing anti-Russian legislation. They are refusing to allow Russians into the country. They are outlawing Russian culture and language, eve though 1 in 4 of their people are Russian.
While Western Europeans like Macron are more likely to view Russia for what it is, the former Warsaw Pact countries are blaming Russia and Putin for all the excesses of the USSR. Kaja Kallas has ordered all the Soviet Red Army soldiers' graves in Estonia to be dug up, and all monuments commemorating the victory of the Red Army and the defeat of Nazism to be removed, to be replaced with monuments homouring the Estonian Defense league, which helped make Estonia "Judenfrei". They are doing the same things in Latvia and Lithuania.
