“I hope at least a few Democrats will have the courage to teach millennials and others the history of socialism’s debilitating, murderous past and the historic human advancement that has been produced by a free market.”

Ha, ha!! This is so clearly debunked. Millennials have access to INFORMATION and they can see the success that Democratic Socialism has had in other countries. They also can see the ravages of Capitalism and the brutal inequality generated by a “free market” system.

They also know that in reality there is no such thing as a free market. There are always rules and regulations that govern the market, and those rules and regulations can be structured to benefit all people, or they can be written and enforced so as to benefit only the top 1%. And they know that the current US market is of the latter variety.

Millennials know that they will have a lower quality of life than their parents; that there are no good jobs available to them; that their following the rules only landed them with aq mountain of student debt, no healthe care and no career prospect. And finally, they realise that this was all caused by a series of deciions made by their parents’ and grandparents’ generations under the mistaken belief that “unfettered free market capitalism” was the way to go.

They are calling bullshit.
