I don't think you read my article. Admit it.
Hamas are a resistance movement. "Hamas" is an Arabic acronym that literally means "Islamic Resistance Movement". So yes, their official mission is to fight for the liberation of Palestine.
Hamas has a legal right under the Geneva Conventions to resist the Israeli occupation by any means available.
They are not however authorised to commit rape. On October 7, Hamas had a very strictly-defined mission to capture hostages and return with them to Gaza.
That said, there were many more Palestinians who followed Hamas through the break in the fence. They may have had rape on their mind. I don't know. I just wonder why no one can name at least one woman who was raped by Hamas, and it seems the Israeli police cannot even name one woman who was raped at all.
Do I think rape happened on 10/7? Probably. When you have young men with guns, in a dangerous situation, then rape can occur.
Certainly the IDF's Chief Rabbi, Colonel Eyal Karim, thinks so. He has approved rape of non-Jewish women by Israeli soldiers. According to the Jewish Forward, Karim thinks rape good for morale.
"He responded that in the interests of maintaining warriors’ morale and fighting fitness during armed conflict, it was permitted to “satisfy the evil inclination by lying with attractive Gentile women against their will.”
As far as genocide is concerned, I do not have to define it. Genocide is already defined in the United Nations "Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide", to whit:
"In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:
- Killing members of the group;
- Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
- Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
- Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
- Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
The International Court of Justice, the highest court IN THE WORLD, has found that it is "plausible" that Israel is committing genocide , and so has sent Israel to be tried on genocide. That trial will ultimately determine whether Israel is committing genocide, as South Africa and several other countries have declared.
Hamas is not committing genocide. How could they? Please explain that one to me.
