I don't know how old you are, but there was a time when the governments of West and Russia hated each other (1949 to 1990). But the Russian people were not anti-American. They had been brought up on the idea that America was an ally of Russia during the Great Patriotic War. They had no enmity toward the West. If anything, they had envy.
I grew up during the Cold War, and we in America all knew the stories that Russians would mug/rob you for your Levis jeans. https://www.heddels.com/2014/09/soviet-denim-smuggling-history-jeans-behind-iron-curtain/
Everything from the West was better, and the Russians knew that. Yes, there was discontent with the Soviet system, because the people did not have denim, they did not have rock and roll, they did not have bananas.
So the USSR collapsed, and "the West" invaded. Hooray! we have McDonald's and we have a free matrket, and the Western capitalist paradise will finally come to Russia!
Well, we all know what happened then. Yeltsin ran Russia into the ground. The Western "economic hit men" took control, oligarchs arose, doing dirty deals with their Western counterparts (collaborators).
Western values were admired in Russia until the Russians experienced what Western values really meant. When their economy tanked, when life expectancy plummeted, when they saw their economy and their society destroyed by Western elites in the 1990's, OF COURSE their opinion of the West - and America in particular - changed dramatically.
NOW - as far as the West being more "technically advanced" - this is demonstrably false. If the US wants to send someone to the ISS, they need to hitch a ride on a Russian Soyuz. Russia has hypersonic cruise missiles; the US "Dark Eagle" is still in the works, and it seems the US cannot get their own hypersonic missile to work. The Atlas V rocket — built by Lockheed Martin and used to launch American military satellites and civilian payloads — runs on a Russian-built engine.
Thge West - at least the US - is actually behind Russia technologically. Russia, like China, has high speed rail. The US does not.
The first effective COVID vaccine was Russia's Sputnik vaccine, which was released in September 2020, with a 92% efficacy rate. Far ahead of Pfizer and Moderna.
NOW - as far as Russia's denigration of the western "woke" culture - yes, the Russians may well feel they are superior to the West because they do have a more spiritual life. They are perhaps more religious. Russia does, after all, have its own religion (Russian Orthodoxy). And it forms a very important part of Russian life. That religiosity may or may not be the driving factor behind Russia's rejection of "woke" culture. By "woke" I mean the full embrace of trans rights, so-called "gender affirming care" and other deviant trends in the US. But let's be real: a lot of Americans are also not happy with giving tweens drugs to postpone or retard puberty ("puberty blockers") or performing genital reassignmment surgery on minors. That is what is happening in the US, and while I personally may not call this trend "satanic" (I am not religious) I will say that it is perverted, deviant and cruel. The idea of trans women competing in women's' sports, for example, is something that is alien to Russians, who perceive it rightly to be illogical and - well, inhuman.
I mean, come on. If you look at this photo of Biden's Assistant Health Secretary, Rachel Levine, you have to laugh — don't you?
