I do not think you can conflate Russia itself with BRICS, which you seem to be doing.

Russia does not "run" or "own" BRICS, the way the US owns NATO and the UN. BRICS is an egalitarian organisation based on a "multipolar world".

Russia rejects unipolar hegemony by the US or anyone else - including even itself. Putin and Lavrov have both been quite clear on this subject.
