I believe you got caught out in an incorrect assertion and did your best to backpedal.

The fact that you are talking about Russia's "lack of military prowess" shows me that you are simply drinking the dominant narrative kool-aid and spitting it back up at anyone who pokes holes in that narrative.

The fact is that Russia had a great deal of justification for launching its SMO, including both legal (UN Charter Article 51 Chapter VII), existential/practical (NATO buildup in Ukraine in preparation for conflict), and moral (Finkelstein's argument).
