For some reason you feel that people who are in Ukraine, have Ukrainian family ties, or in Alice's case, born and bred in Ukraine, would be neutral observers of the current conflict, or even perhaps rational critics of Ukraine.

I do not ascribe to this view.

I would expect people who live in Ukraine, who love Ukraine, whose loved ones live in Ukraine, to be pro-Ukraine.

I do not expect people living in Ukraine to be critical of Ukraine, lest they end up on the dreaded Myrotvorets list, or worse, imprisoned and murdered like Gonzalo Lira.
