I fear you missed my point. The point is that NATO is meaningless in terms of a defensive alliance. It is an offensive military organisation that allows the US to project power worldwide with a face-saving coalition to lend legitimacy to what are in reality illegitimate acts of rapacious, militaristic imperialism.

For the North Macedonians, NATO is just a way to short-cut their way into the EU by getting the US on their side.
