As I mentioned, Hamas are most definitely NOT terrorists. As the so-called "Islamic Resistance Movement, they are a political entity that was elected to power. They represent the only movement to support Palestinian rights and to actively RESIST the Israeli occupation. That is why they are so popular.
Do Hams have an armed wing? YES. They are called the Qassam Brigades. They are the ones who orchestrated and executed the attacks on October 7, along with other Palestinian armed factions.
Hamas are like Sinn Fein, a political group that resisted the British occupation of Northern Ireland. Sinn Fein had an armed wing called the Irish Republican Army (IRA) who conducted terrorist operations against the British in order to force them to the negotiating table. But it was Sinn Fein who negotiated, NOT the IRA.
Likewise, the Qassam Brigades (and the PFLP and other groups) will continue to perpetrate violence against their occupiers (as is their legal right under the Geneva Conventions) until Israel agrees to negotiate.
But then Israel will have to negotiate with Hamas.
They do not want to do this.
They do not want a negotiated solution to the Palestinian crisis. They want to destroy, eliminate, exterminate, expel and ethnically cleanse the Palestinians. In short, Israel wants to finish what it started in 1948, but Hamas sands in their way.
Israel deliberately conflates Hamas with the Qassam Brigades because they want to "destroy Hamas" - this is so they can then throw up their hands and say "we have no one to negotiate with!". And thus continue their genocide.
