And yet it seems Putin was unaware of t his? Or was he aware? and simply wanted to "give peace a chance".
Putin may be a lot of things, but stupid is not one of them.
He knew, like Merkel, and like you, that he could have rolled right over Ukraine in 2014.
He did not. He trusted Merkel and Hollande. He trusted the West.
He will not make that mistake again.
